wow, just checked Vicroads and it comes back with the VIN starting 1HGEJ82400L00.... so that to me indicates it came from the USA.

Yeah, me too. Some of our Civics of that era were home-built and others came from Canada. Nowadays I think all the sedans and coupes sold in the US are built in Canada (I know the Si’s are for sure), and the hatches come from the UK.

A good many are still produced in the US. I see about eight a week and the sedans’ VINs start with either 2HGFB or 19XFB. They tend to be a 50/50 split here in NC

The only thing that would make it less rare is if it was stollen and abandoned right there on the street.
